Board & Train programs typically last two to three weeks. Dogs board with professional trainers during these programs and follow the curriculum of the selected package. Each option covers a different combination of commands, leash handling, manners, and distraction training:
- Community K9 (2-week): An on-leash program that exposes dogs to mid-level distractions in settings such as parks, trails, neighborhoods, stores, and other everyday environments. It includes seven listed commands, on-leash heeling, full off-leash recall, and practical greeting, door, and meal manners.
- Urban K9 (2-week): An on-leash program designed around high-level distractions in busy public environments such as shopping centers, events, airports, and highly populated areas.
- ExpeditePro™ (2-week): Provides expedited scheduling and the choice of the Community K9 or Urban K9 curriculum. It also includes an equipment bundle with an e-collar, treat pouch, place cot, and slip lead.
- 3-Week Board & Train: An extended off-leash program covering core obedience, multiple distractions, advanced manners, vehicle loading, and two advanced commands selected from the available options. Program suitability depends on the dog’s behavior history and training goals.
Private and In-Home Lessons
Private lessons allow owners to participate directly in their dog’s training and practice the system between scheduled sessions:
- Basic Obedience: Five private lessons covering six listed commands, including Come, Sit, Down, Place, loose-leash Heel, and Off. The package includes an e-collar and a 15-foot leash.
- Basic & Advanced Obedience: Nine private lessons combining the basic obedience curriculum with advanced commands, extended-distance work, and additional training goals.

- In-Home Basic & Advanced Obedience: Seven private lessons combining foundational obedience with advanced commands, environmental distractions, owner education, therapy dog preparation, or other eligible goals. Availability depends on location.
Specialized Training Programs
- Dog Aggression & Reactivity Training: A nine-lesson program for dogs displaying aggression or reactivity around other dogs. It combines basic obedience with additional work around dogs in different scenarios to improve control, handling, and management. Complete fixes for major dog or human aggression cannot be guaranteed.
- Puppy Training Consultation: Designed for puppies under five months old, this consultation covers early socialization, crate training, house manners, house-training questions, and preparation for future obedience work. An online puppy course with 24 video modules, eight worksheets, and approximately three hours of training content is also available.
- Basic Marker Mastery™: A four-session reward-based program introducing Come, Sit, Place, slip-lead handling, and loose-leash walking. A 15-foot leash, clicker, and slip lead are included. The program does not include an e-collar or prong collar.
- Therapy Dog Preparation: An eight-lesson program that prepares dogs and owners for therapy dog testing and certification. After successful completion, eligible teams may be evaluated and certified through Therapy Pets Unlimited.
