Board & Train Programs

Current Board & Train programs run for two or three weeks.

Dogs stay with professional trainers and follow the curriculum of the selected package. The dedicated Board & Train program states that dogs live in their trainer’s home, trainers work with only two to three Board & Train dogs at a time, and owners receive daily photo and video updates.

Community K9 (2-week): Primarily an on-leash program with mid-level distractions. It includes seven listed commands, on-leash Heel, full off-leash recall, and greeting, door, and meal manners.

Urban K9 (2-week): An on-leash program focused on high-level distractions. It includes six listed commands along with greeting, door, and meal manners.

ExpeditePro™ (2-week): Provides expedited scheduling with a choice of the Community K9 or Urban K9 curriculum. The equipment bundle includes an e-collar, treat pouch, place cot, and slip lead.

3-Week Board & Train: Provides the broader off-leash curriculum, including obedience around multiple distractions and environments, practical manners, Load Up, and two owner-selected advanced commands.

Applicable Board & Train programs conclude with a two-hour owner handoff and include free refresher support after completion.

Private and In-Home Lessons

Private lessons allow owners to participate directly in their dog’s training and continue practicing skills between appointments.

Basic Obedience: Five private lessons covering Come, Sit and Extended Sit, Down and Extended Down, Place and Extended Place, loose-leash Heel, and Off. The program includes an e-collar and 15-foot leash.

Basic & Advanced Obedience: Nine private lessons that build on foundational obedience with additional advanced commands and extended-distance work.

In-Home Training: In-Home Basic and In-Home Basic & Advanced options are available in select areas. Seacrest Beach owners should confirm current program format and location availability during the free phone consultation.

Specialized Training Programs

Dog Aggression & Reactivity Training

The current Dog Aggression & Reactivity Training program includes nine lessons over nine weeks and is specifically designed for dogs displaying aggression or reactivity around other dogs.

It combines Basic Obedience with additional lessons working with the owner and dog around other dogs in different scenarios and includes desensitization.

Complete fixes for major dog or people aggression cannot be guaranteed.

Owners dealing with people-directed aggression, resource guarding, or another concern outside the published dog-to-dog focus should discuss the behavior during consultation so the team can explain whether an available program may be appropriate.

Puppy Training Consultation

The Puppy Training Consultation is designed for puppies under five months.

It focuses on early foundations such as socialization, crate training, house-training guidance, and home manners.

Puppy training should be viewed as foundation work rather than a guarantee that future fear, anxiety, aggression, or other behavior problems will be prevented.

Basic Marker Mastery™

  • Basic Marker Mastery™ is a four-session positive-reinforcement program using markers and clicker training.

The program introduces Come, Sit, Place, slip-lead handling, and loose-leash walking.

A 15-foot leash, clicker, and slip lead are included. The program does not use e-collars or prong collars.

Therapy Dog Preparation

Therapy Dog Preparation is an eight-week, eight-lesson course designed to prepare dogs and handlers for therapy-dog testing and certification.

After successful completion, qualifying teams may be evaluated and certified through Therapy Pets Unlimited.

Completion of the training itself does not automatically guarantee qualification.

Therapy dogs and service dogs serve different roles, so therapy preparation should not be treated as a pathway toward service-dog status.
